Description
This poster features a color photograph by Terry Farmer of the Lincoln Monument which encloses the tombs of the Abraham Lincoln family located in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. It is the final resting place for President Lincoln, his wife, and three of his four sons. The title "Lincon's Tomb, Springfield, Illinois, is centered in the top margin. Words spoken by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton at the time of Lincoln's death, "Now he belongs to the ages," along with Lincoln's birth and death dates are printed in the lower margin.
