Description

This reprint of an article published in the February 27, 1938, "Illinois State Register" written by William Dodd Chenery was written in response to an article originally published on February 9 as a protest to stories printed about Mrs. Lincoln's temper. Mr. Chenery relates stories of Mrs. Lincoln's kindnesses to a neighbor family, the Dallmans, told to him by Mrs. Dallman in her senior years.
